Paula liked her teeth, but didn’t like how much of her gums that she showed. Her gums covered her teeth too much and made her teeth look short. Also, the gums on the two front teeth didn’t match. She had nice teeth, but the issues with her gums were a distraction to an otherwise nice smile. She had heard about the dental laser on TV and came to us to ask if that was a procedure that would work in her case.
Upon examining her teeth and gums we determined that Paula was a perfect candidate for using the dental gum laser. She was also delighted to learn that she wouldn’t need any shots or local anesthetic. Laser gum reshaping is so comfortable for the patient that oftentimes all that is used is some topical gum gel that numbs up the gums for the fifteen minute procedure.
Here is the photo of Paula IMMEDIATELY AFTER reshaping the gums on her four front teeth with the dental gum laser.
The next thing Paula wanted to do to improve her smile just a little more was to bleach (whiten) her teeth.
Probably the two easiest and least costly things that cosmetic dentists can do to improve a smile are the two things we did with Paula, reshape the gums to make them even and whiten the teeth. All easy, simple, quick and generally easily fits into most people’s budget.
